Years ago I got an image of this splendid bird using a film camera. This was only my 3rd sighting of the species.
Niltavas are fairly large and plump flycatcher. This one likes it in the undergrowth and lower storey. It feeds on insects but also takes fruit.
The bill is proportionally small. Size 18cm.
Image taken in the wee early morning hours of the day as the bird came out of the foliage to feed
on moth on the road by some neon lights.
