On the way down from here -- above treeline on South Turner, from where we are looking at Katahdin -- the wind increased dramatically. At several points the gusts knocked us down and so I figured they must be at least 60 miles per hour. Later we learned they were 66 mph! It was an adventure -- one I would not seek, but do seem to truly enjoy.
