Force Out at Second Base

This is a two frames combined showing Brian Giles sliding into a force out at second base and the start of a double play as the Pittsburgh Pirates went on to defeat the Padres 3 – 6. Unfortunately I missed the shot a couple of innings later of Giles dropping an easy fly ball to right field that led to 2 more runs for the Pirates.

Sitting up high in right field gave me a great opportunity to push the limits of my 70 – 200 mm L lens and high ISO.

I am suprized that you had to shoot allmost full wide at 1600. It seemed lighter in there.But here it is important to shoot with a fast to moderate shutter to stop the action and hand holding.

The sooner the Padres' season is over, the better. This has been one of their worst seasons in ages. Maybe The Chargers can get hot and help us get past the misery. : (
