After 4 hours of putting the door on and taking it off and making no progress getting it t fit, it was obvious that the hinge post needed to be securely held in place AND adjustable so I came up with this Rube Goldberg contraption.

On the passenger side the cowls all fit they way they should and held the hinge post in place and the door fit nearly perfect on the first try, such was not the case on this side. Some minor collision damage has left the hinge post bent and the rest of the sheetmetal around it has to be replaced. The plan is to get the door on, fit and latching correctly and then fit the cowls. I really need to get this side wrapped up... it's dragging on for way too long.
