Well, the suspense didn't kill me. It might have given me a few more gray hairs though. Out of the 20 photos I entered in the fair, I was lucky enough to have ended up with 9 ribbons. 3 first place ribbons, 4 second place, a third, and a fourth. 8 of the 9 ribbons were for portraits. Those were the shots that I was really hoping would do well.

The other ribbon was for one of my flower shots. I was kind of disappointed that the other flower shot didn't place, as I felt it was a stronger shot. Compositionally, it was a little unconventional, so maybe that's why it didn't fare well.
While I really felt good about the rest of the shots I entered, they were beat fair and square for the most part. I thought at least one of the eagle shots would have placed, but that was a tough category to be in.
All in all, I feel good about my placement and look forward to entering again next year.
After checking out the photos, we had dinner and dessert, and then walked the fair. Ian fed the animals and played some games. I snagged this shot of Ian and Margaret playing Wack-a-mole. The woman at the far end actually won, but gave up her prize to Ian. That was very nice of her, and he eventually won another game and traded that prize in for a larger one.
We had a blast tonight, and usually spend the last night there as well, but with baby due anyday now, we might not be able to. We'll see.
