For some reason this image really hits the mark for me.
Yet it breaks compositional rules.
• The subject of the shot is not that well defined
• The subject is moving out of the picture
• The space is behind the subject, when convention says you should move into the space
• The subject is not on any of the Thirds lines ...
So why does it work for me..
I like the lighting of the background which draws the eye towards the plane.
The plane whilst not well defined jumps out the screen as the focal point.
My name looks good in the bottom left hand corner :)
I just like the very simplicity of the shot, with the drama of the background
I had this on full whack using a 70- 300mm zoom, the other plane was some distance away..
