Woodchat Shrike

The Woodchat Shrike is a rare vagrant to Scotland. Its normal breeding range is in the Mediterranean countries and it winters in Africa. I regularly see this species when I am on holiday in Turkey-it has a varied and pleasant song. The bird photographed at barns Ness is a 1st winter/juvenile.
