This gallery contains some photographs taken at the Scottish Mountaineering Club meet to the Wayfarers' Club hut in Langdale in the English Lake District in September 2009. We combined this with a reunion of some of my old climbing buddies, all ex Glasgow University Mountaineering Club members from way, way back in the late 1960s. Where have the last 40 years gone ?!
Jimmy and I have long since given up rock climbing so we went for a very pleasant hill walk up Bowfell at the head of Langdale whilst the others went climbing on Gimmer Crag on a day of glorious autumn sunshine. Sunday was a day for a quiet low level walk around Rydal Water. Many thanks to Dick Allen for organising the SMC meet and for the splendid evening meal.
