The first Osprey of the spring season was seen on 24th March 2011 - the same day as the first bird returned to the RSPB Loch Garten reserve in the Cairngorms.
Usually the female birds are the first to arrive to take possession of last year's nest sites. The bird in this photograph is perched a few metres away from the nest.
