Towards the end of our trip we had a morning birding in a remnant lowland rain forest area called the Bobiri Butterfly Reserve not far south of Kumasi. There had been a prolonged thunderstorm the previous night so everything was dripping wet. The birding highlights here were Red-billed Dwarf Hornbill, Afep Pigeon and (at least for Michael) Narina's Trogon. An avian oddity was Preuss's Weaver, a striking black and gold coloured weaver which behaves like a nuthatch creeping along tree branches.
