(Pterocles exustus)
A commonly occuring sand grouse being found across sub Saharan Africa in semi desert areas. Perhaps unusually, these birds were coning to drink at the waterhole in Waza National Park in the near noon time rather than the expected 2-3 hours after dawn. Also shown in the photographs are some of the many Garganey which were present at this waterhole.
