Hello, I live in San Francisco and have returned over and over and over again to the Borders. I leave half my heart in San Francisco -- and go to visit the other half I've left there. I have always had an oddly compelling, inexplicable attraction to Ruberslaw. I love the pub/restaurant at Bonchester Br., and have driven away in the evening and had to stop and stare at Ruberslaw in the gloaming...and start the car to drive back to Hawick...and literally not been able to get away until I made 3 or 4 tries. I finally climbed it (the DIFFICULT way, silly us!) a few years ago when it was dry and glorious and no mud anywhere -- and you could see (I think my friend from Jedburgh said?) 5 counties. Anyway, it looks as though you love the area as much as I...and that has warmed my heart to browse through photos of these places I love so much (have you been to Abbotrule..?) so I wanted to say thanks, hello and...*sigh* (And it's not exaclty like the San Francisco Bay area lacks for stunning natural beauty...!) My only regret is that I can't hear the Borders accents as I view these!
