Steve Hislop was born and brought up in the village of Southdean, just a few miles from the English border and some ten miles or so from Hawick where one of two statues has been placed in his memory. The other is at the side of the TT course on the Isle of Man where Steve was such a hero. The people of Southdean have also paid tribute to their most famous son with this fitting memorial stone.
