The speedometer instrument light on my 2007 XV250 is not working. I assume the bulb is burnt out. I took a quick look, and it appears that changing the bulb is a real pain that involves removing the windshield and headlight in order to get at the underside of the speedometer. Then the speedometer would have to be dismantled. Or is there some quick and easy trick to replacing the bulb?

the xv535 was only fireing on one cylinder,i changed the plugs and it ran fine,i mentioned it to a mechanic who told me it could be old fuel in the tank,as ive just bought it,and that thay are known for fouling up with dirty fuel when left for a long time, but i pulled up some blue prints off the net,and the tanks and the carbs have fillters on them,so would these fillters stop the old fuel and corrosion going to the carbs, should thay be changed.

Colyn- When I put pipes and stage 1 jets and needles in my XV1100 I had to adjust the needles that came with the jet kit down 1 notch from the recommended setting. They spec'd the #4 slot...I had to use #3 to get rid of the backfire and adjust the pilot screws out a total of 2 turns in the front and 2 1/2 turns on the back cylinder. Bikeneeds to at running temperature to make the adjustments and then you take what you get at cold engine temps during warmup period. Some idle adjustment is needed too. Make sure your throttle cables have appropriate slack. Go to www.drpiston.com and read his carb articles on the Virago
