Sand Waves

Applecross Bay, Scotland.

The sand flats at Applecross are actually not quite as flat as you might think they are heavily textured into rippled lines by the pull of the sea and have been pulled into large shallow depressions and equally shallow domes. Add to this a lofty viewpoint still water beneath a grey sky and the fact that the sand is surprisingly red and it becomes a recipe for a fine natural sculpture. I was very happy to try and make some sort of artistic sense of it with my camera.

NEW!! Photographic Courses at TRANSIENT LIGHT.
