Gruinard Winter Twilight

Gruinard Bay, West Coast, Scotland.

For a few years running every New Year myself and a few friends stayed in this little wooden chalet in isolated seclusion at the bottom of Gruinard Bay quite literally overlooking the sea. In winter the weather just washes in and you sit spell bound at the huge picture window watching it crash ashore whilst warm and toasty in front of a log fire. One evening I signalled to everyone in the cabin to turn the lights on while I waited for the blue of twilight to fall. This is the result.
It even snowed on the beach.

Hi Ian,
thanks for sharing with us this moment. A fantastic picture!!! Took me some time to figure out it was a night shot, although the house is so bightly lit that you can bearly mistake it.

A masterpiece!!

Regards,

Igor

so good of the skyies above above to snow for you
it has helped to produce a lovely image.
I bet however you were glad of a hot toddy when you returned to the chalet.
