My family and I holidayed in France this year and one of the places we particularly enjoyed was Sisteron. This is just about the best viewpoint of this very lovely French town as it overlooks a volcanic shaped slab of rock with a row of attractive shuttered houses nestled below. However it was the glorious sky and the soft ambient light that occurred a few minutes after sunset that made it so visually exciting for me. I realised that the clouds were radially splaying out and moving toward my position from behind the peak and a long exposure would only serve to enhance the effect.
