Although the lavender fields were definitely the star of France's scenery. I did manage to find other compelling crops such as this delightful olive grove with its dusty green leaves and vivid ochre rich soil providing a rich and vibrant colour contrast. I opted to focus on one tree in the grove and allowed the others to provide a suggestion of place. This proved to be the most successful method of communicating the repeating patterns and shapes.
