An enormous round boulder left behind on the brow of the gruinard bay overlook catches the first brush strokes of sunrise while all below is in cold and frosty shadow. The little wooden lodge in the bay below near the grass covered fields is a place that I have stayed several times and one that I would strongly consider as a location for future photographic holiday courses. Through large picture windows you can watch the weather roll in and I have seen both dolphin and Minke whale cruising the turquoise waters of the bay. It is just about idyllic.
