Ice Tussocks

Dava Moor, near Carrbridge, Highlands

At last winter has finally arrived in Scotland and a few icy blasts are starting to filter down to the lower levels. I hope this is a taste of what's to come. Frozen peat stained pools punctuated by tussock grass dolloped with snow. I hopped from tussock to tussock to get to this point and only stopped when reckless confidence abandoned me and health and safety took over. After filling in the insurance waiver I composed this shot on my 2 foot diameter tussock then gazelle!! like bounded back to firmer ground.
