Mono Lake Glow

Mono Lake, California, USA

A superb example of alpine glow hitting the mountains behind mono lake. The salinity of the water is intense and forms these lime stone cathedrals known as Tufas. Even the plants at the edge of the water are coated with thick white deposits so it tends to look like hoar frost. A truly fascinating place.
