Looking like a scene out of middle Africa, this group of scots pine on agricultural land, is actually north Scotland close to the town of Nairn and visible from the A96. Only once have I seen it this colour and I was fortunate enough to have my camera with me. Unusually I have been able to keep the intense fire ball of the sun in the shot because floating over the sea is the legendary Scottish Haar (sea mist). The result is a seriously diffused sun and localised diffraction in the water droplets causing the luminous glow above. Lucky me...
