I have never seen such a well defined arc or Glory around the sun in Scotland before. It was a very fine brittle cold still winter evening at Elphin in Assynt and doubtless the very fine particles of ice had caused this wonderful and distinct halo around the sun. I did remove a very annoying bit of road signage which proved impossible to eliminate by compositional choice alone.
