Sundrise

Sund, Lofoten, Norway

One of my personal favourite viewpoints on Lofoten. The view across the fjord towards the peaks surrounding Reine is at its absolute best around sunrise when the entire snow covered escarpment changes from red to gold as the sun rises and slams into the peaks. The contrast of colour especially after a few wintery squalls has to be seen to be believed. Fortunately at this little viewpoint it is even possible to capture the reflected golden peak in a turquoise channel of shallow water if you are lucky with the tides.
