Desert Floor

Sossusvlei, Namibia, Africa

It was always unlikely that Sossusvlei would fail to make its mark on me but I can honestly say that even I was astonished by the rainbow of colours that a pure blue sky, orange sand and angled sunlight could produce. This was just a scene that displayed a virtuoso of strong colours juxtaposed with slightly weaker hues that created such immense depth and an equally sweeping sense of satisfaction. At its best shortly after sunrise. By the way that light patch on the desert floor is where I walked too to take the last uploaded shot, "Barren".
