Moving down from the top of the cliffs overlooking the arched sea stack of Bowfiddle brings a lot more of those delightful nodding purple flowers of thrift into view. Juxtaposing them with a rather disturbed and turbulent seascape complete with harsh pointy rocks and a significant summer swell has the effect of mellowing this harsh landscape, an effect that pleases me greatly. So often I find that these boundary conditions produce the most striking results.
