Ah, is this a blood stained dagger I see before me.. well yes actually it pretty well is. The sea stacks at Duncansby are outrageously pointy and from this angle are highly reminiscent of the blade of a knife or a sharks tooth, take your pick. One thing is for certain this was a spectacularly colourful sunrise that matured above the mighty shard of rock just shy of 4am on an early June morning and not a sole was there to witness it save for our small shell shocked band of moderately enthusiastic photographers recovering after a 40 minute walk and a similar drive.
