I had intended to photograph the lonesome tree at the edge of Loch Lomond near Millarochy but unfortunately even after a significant bout of rain the tree was still not marooned in the water and my hoped for sunrise proved to be sombre and steely blue. Instead I turned my attention to this little birch island in full autumn regalia and was pleased to see the ring of rust red oak and beech leaves at the edge of the loch complete with a fine reflection a wonderful array of opposing hues.
