The first frost of late Autumn settled on the fine filigree of birch surrounding Glen Garry most of the Silver Birch foliage had already departed but a few golden yellow back lit leaves stubbornly remained. The frosted coating was lovely but as the sun hit the ice very quickly changed to water and I thought I had missed the boat. How wrong I was, for in place of the frosted coat was a billion sparkling diamonds, tiny droplets of water glistening and refracting the light. This really was the final curtain call though, as shortly after the droplets evaporated in the morning heat.
