I came across this little white boat shed, a perfectly beautiful fisherman's retreat and a wonderful example of man's symbiotic harmony with the land at the end of Selfjord, by chance. It seemed to me to be an almost perfect landscape. Towering mountains growing out of the loch complete with their reflection, a slight pinkening of a sky descending into twilight and a mercurial appearance to the water. Even the little boat shed maintained a degree of scenic quaintness, its red door, drying cod and rusted roof adding a tiny splash of warm colour to an otherwise chilly scene. I was so enamoured I vowed to return to see if I could get a splash of sunrise crimson on those peaks. It didn't happen but I will try again.
