Mellondrama

Mellon Udrigle, Laide, Scotland

There are two peat streams that cut a new track through the red sands of Mellon Udrigle. This one usually is the most interesting but is often cluttered with rather foul smelling black seaweed. On this occasion it was only the lowest areas of the tide that suffered the black weed and the colours of the red peppered sand and turquoise sea in pre-dawn light really showed up very well. As you have probably gathered this is one of my favorite beaches in Scotland and the soft light really enhances its colours.

A dreamy, mystical scene, which conveys the peace of this wonderful place.
The long shutter speed adds its own soft blurring and is so well handled, with your f/22 aperture capturing detail both near and far.
Truly masterful.

Beautiful! .... Love the strong sharp edges of the sand in contrast to the softness of the rest of the image :)
