The viewpoint over the second coast at Gruinard Bay is a popular stop for tourists who love the mountain view with the turquoise water rolling up the beach far below but actually a far better view can be achieved after a short 50 metre climb to the top of the cliff where an unrestricted view of both mountains and sea can be seen. I timed this for sunset on a November evening when red light from a setting sun played over the distant peaks and turned the lower clouds glowing orange. A cracking good view and very colourful.
