One does tend to lose all track of time when wandering around Venice I went one stage further, I had trouble even remembering what day it was. In the end I concluded that this must be a Monday because that would seem to be the day after the busiest two of the week and this would seem to be wash day where everyone in Venice apparently competes with their neighbour for the best washed laundry and the neatest presentation of hanging garments.
