I find this little grove of Scots pine almost irresistable but actually very few of them separate into individual trees and then only from the very narrowest of viewpoints. These four however do conveniently stand apart but still manage to look like a wee family group. It seems clear to me that father and mother tree are ushering their children along. The adult limbs seemingly beckon the two awkward and rather gangly children, who like their human counterparts reluctantly leave at the end of a day down at the beach.
