This is probably my favourite shot I have taken of Dunottar castle and as usual it is all down to the quality of some extremely transient blood red light that flickered over the castle shortly after sunrise. At the time I was with some Russian friends and having achieved a few shots of sunrise behind the castle I ran back the other side and gulping down oxygen set up on the other side of it. Purple flowers made a nice foreground fringe for the grass banks then the delicate pink sky with violet clouds and lastly that sumptuous light. Just heavenly..
