Absolute Zero

Loch A Chroisg, Achnasheen, Scotland.

For three days and nights the temperature around this freezing mist bound loch plummeted to minus sixteen or less, coating every branch, twig and blade of grass with an inch or more of crystalline hoar frost. it was a stunning sight, but few trees were as attractively shaped or so ideally positioned as this wee lochside birch tree with its stunning mountain backdrop blushing rouge in the last vestiges of sunlight.

NEW!! Photographic workshops and masterclasses at TRANSIENT LIGHT.

Beautiful and mesmerising - tremendous shot Ian, I love everything about this, from the deep rime and hoar on the tree and grasses right through to crystal clear light to the sharp and detailed mountain in the background. Wonderful...V
