Crisp Mono

Aviemore, Cairngorm, Scotland.

Hoar frosted birch trees ring a farmers field bristling with frozen stubble. Honey coloured light found a way to squeeze through dappled clouds and illuminated the frosted trees causing them to glow enthusiastically while a grey and dappled blue sky behind acted as a very pleasing and complementary backdrop.

polariser and 0.3ND grad, f/16 at 1/2 sec, (Velvia converted to mono in channels) full exif

Blimey! I though this was an IR image when I saw the thumb...but I should have known better :o) Beautiful contrast between the sharp detailed foreground & trees and the smoother backdrop of the clouds, great DoF and wonderful B&W processing of this fantastic light. V+
