I was a 5 and 6 years old and lived in Cinnebar in roughly 1956. It was the best summer Ever. Then the mill burned to the ground. Dad lost his job and we had to leave. Sad

I just located these pictures and they are great. I lived at Cinnabar Mine in the early 50's when JJ Oberbillng was still alive and all his kids were terrorizing the country side with there guns and Jeeps... I was 10-11 years old and and I was the only 6th grader in class. Loved to fish and hunt. My Dad worked in the mine, it was a very memorable time in my life.
