We visted the village in winter - hence the bleak look in the images. This village had a disastrous flood in recent years causing loss of life and major property damage. Inland, the steep valley appears funnel run-off into the river that runs through the centre of the village. Since the flood, mitigation work will hopefully prevent the disaster occuring again.

The harbour appears to offer a precarious home for fishermen. Boats can't reach the safety of the harbour when the tide is out.
