It is estimated that there is only 300 Mla Bri people left in the world (Mla Bri= Forest People). 85 of these live in Ban Bunyuen. The others are spread on 3 other settlements: 30 people in Ban Tha Wa (Phrae province), 120 in Ban Huay Yuak (Nan province) og 60 in Ban Phu Fa (Nan province). There is also estimated to live very few Mla Bri people in Laos, only 24, maybe none.
The Mla Bri people is also called The Yellow Leaf People in English, or in thai: phaw tong luang.
