115 degrees in Baker, Ca. at about 6 pm. I knew it was hot when I went through Barstow
and headed towards Vegas. But when I saw the biggest thermometer in Baker I just had to
take this photo. My HJC Symax helmet vented my head very well as long as I kept my visor
shut. I could actually feel the air circulating around my head! What a great helmet.
I had a shirt sleeve t-shirt under my Johnny Rocket Phoenix mesh jacket. Again, another
well designed product as it protected me with its padding and armor yet it kept me cool
with the mesh. At every 260 mile fuel stop I hydrated my body with 32 oz. of
Gatorade which I slowly drank in 15 minutes.
