The Nave of Bristol Cathedral
is filled with glorious, amazing light... -- for two reasons:
(1) the Nave and its accompanying aisles are the same height; and
(2) the side windows -- installed after the Second World War --
feature very little coloured glass.
It is a magnificent open space!

Yes, wonderful light. So much brighter than Salisbury and similar cathedrals.
When I see these amazing cathedrals I'm so saddened by all the ruined abbeys
throughout England. Imagine how much more architectural treasure there might
be today. I'm afraid King Henry has a lot to answer for. Great shot.
