Arriving in Tari there were thousands of people behind chain link fence. We were rushed to buses, told to keep our hands crossed in front of us.
I snapped these photos while behind the chain link fence.
Tari has no "town", people there sell things from their homes or on roadsides.
This man is the top baggage handler
I don't know if these photos can really represent the sea of people at the airport

Murray, I was told a local tribal chief was murdered by gangs in Port Moresby and these people thought our plane might have his body on it, sending the body home for burial.

Good to see some more photos of this area on pbase. You got three times the crowd at the airport than I had when I was there!
