The desert city of Yazd contains a host of winding lanes, blue-tiled domes, soaring minarets, covered bazaars and fine old homes topped by badgirs (windtowers) and watered by the ingenious qanats (underground canals). The local people that we met told us that Yazd can be quite cold in winter and boiling hot in summer, but not humid.
