Nice Catch Ray. I thought the hummers would have left Canada by late September. Up in Muskoks they don't hum around much past Labour Day.

"If?" Obviously, you haven't shot too many hummingbirds. Even with flash, which I didn't use here, 1/800s isn't going to freeze a hummer's wings. I didn't seek to freeze the wings either. I don't believe in making the bird look as if it is magically hanging in the air without flapping their wings. I like to "see" the movement.

If your exposure was 1/800s you should have been able to capture the wings as stationary.
