The mudskipper is an amphibious fish & can leave the water and walk on the beach. It uses its fins to move around in a series of skips & can also catapult itself nearly 2 feet into the air. It has the ability to breathe through its skin. It grows to six inches & is found throughout tropical Africa, Asia & Australia. This fish fits neatly into the category of odd & eccentric that Peter Calvesbert loves so much.
