WSV Sasaki Garden Birds & Other Wildlife

The Trustees of NYU & President John Sexton, Mayor Bloomberg, Manhattan Borough President Scot Springer, Amanda Burden's New York City Planning Commission, the NY City Land Use Committee, NY City Council President Christine Quinn and NY City Council District Leader Margaret Chin have voted against sustaining this habitat - against the Greenwich Village community, the Greenwich Village NY City Community Council Board, the NYU Faculty Against the Sexton Plan, and the local business community's wishes.

This habitat, along with park strips, children's playgrounds and treasured Washington Square Village Sasasaki Garden, Friends of LaGuardia Place Garden and LaGuardia Place Corner Garden will be lost forever if our courts of justice allow the destruction of this habitat for the construction of a series of private NYU high rise buildings in this heart of historic Greenwich Village.
