NYU2031 Plan calls for the destruction of this magnificent tree and garden. It is estimated the NYU's construction plan calls for the destruction of over 300 mature trees and hundreds of evergreen bushes for the construction of two giant skyscrapers in this garden and adjacent children's playground and public park strip. Construction on the block south of Washington Square Village calls for the destruction of our neighborhood beloved community garden and other gardens with a large number of other mature trees for more skyscrapers in the heart of historic Greenwich Village.
