I'm still untangling the ironies represented in this photo series. This building of modern western construction stands, but as a ruin. The surrounding traditional structures were obliterated as the other photos show, but the city I understand has been rebuilt and is humming today. Endurance - is it a structure which still stands in recognizable form? Or is it a city that inhabits a new shell and continues its lively existence?
