The sun was within seconds of bursting out from behind the mountain. I was running to get to an area I like to shoot this mountaing from but had to take this shot. Where we live is west of Mt. Hood and this time of year the sun rises from behind the mountain, so we are literaly in the shadow of the mountain. The sun was illuminating the snow blowing off the top making the mountain appear to be on fire. While not ideal, it was the best shot I got of it today. In less than a minute and before I could get to the clearing I like to shoot from, the sun broke over the mountain and made it impossible to shoot for a while.
